Hi, we are the Barnes family who run The Toy and Fidget Barn in the North East of England near a town named Yarm. It's a beautiful place, and we moved here this summer to be closer to our family after spending 26 years in Manchester for university and beyond.
We are a family of four—well, six if you count our two wire-haired dachshunds (Teckels) named Arthur and Rocky. You can see them on our logo, and if you ever visit us, you'll likely see them running around causing havoc!
There's also myself, Vicki—mum of the mad house and creator and boss of the store. My passion for toys, fidgets, and fun has led us to set up this business! I love all things squishy, but I also have a passion to run a business where kids are left wonderstruck by the volume of goods and the choices available to them.
My dream would be to get a traditional toy store back onto the high street, so that kids of this generation and future generations can experience that feeling in person, just like I did in my childhood.
My husband Ed is the sensible one who keeps me (somewhat controlled) with his business and marketing background.
James is my eldest son, who is great with a camera, creating engaging content and keeping up with trends.
And last but not least—Harry is the youngest, but he's also mad about toys and fidgets, and will be our chief tester!
So that's a little about us. We promise to do our best to stock the best-selling and newest trends in fidgets and toys and can't wait to showcase our brand to you very soon!
